What is a Chemical Peel
This procedure restores wrinkled, blemished, unevenly pigmented, or sun-damaged facial skin using a chemical solution to peel away the skin's top layers. It works best on fair, thin skin with superficial wrinkles.
Glycolic Peels: $150 per treatment
TCA Peels: $795 per treatment
This procedure takes about 30-60 minutes for the whole face.
No anesthesia is required for this procedure.
Possible side effects
Patients may experience temporary throbbing, tingling, swelling, redness or an acute sensitivity to the sun. Permanent lightening of treated skin and permanent loss of ability to tan may also occur.
This is an outpatient procedure.
Tiny whiteheads (temporary) may occur as well as infection, scarring, flare-up of skin allergies, fever blisters, cold sores, abnormal color changes (permanent), and hear irregularities (rare).
There is no downtime associated with the Glycolic Peel. The TCA Peel has a recommended downtime of 5 to 10 days. Formation of new skin occurs within 7 to 21 days. Normal activities can occur in 2 to 4 weeks. Full healing and fading of redness occurs in 3 to 6 months.
This procedure is permanent, although new wrinkles may form as skin ages.
